SWCHEM is one of the pioneers in China in the development of methanol reforming-to-H₂ technology and has delivered dozens of industrial plants.
The first industrial methanol reforming-to-H₂ plant developed by SWCHEM was successfully put into operation in July 1993 at Guangzhou Jinzhujiang Chemical Co., Ltd. The unit has remained in stable operation to date and was recognized with the National Excellent Design Award.
The process adopts steam reforming of methanol and water to produce a mixed gas mainly containing H₂ and CO₂. High-purity H₂ is then separated and purified from the reforming gas by SWCHEM’s PSA technology.
SWCHEM adopts proprietary methanol reforming catalysts with the following features:
| Item | Data |
|---|---|
| Plant capacity | 20–60,000 Nm³/h H₂ |
| H₂ purity | ≥ 99.9–99.999 vol% |
| H₂ pressure | 0.8–2.5 MPa |
| Compressor | Not required under typical process conditions |
SWCHEM provides:
